Job Introduction:

G4S is looking for a seasoned Regional Legal Manager based in the UAE.  Reporting to the Regional General Counsel, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal  expertise and ensuring operational and contractual compliance across our operations in the Middle East Region covering Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, KSA.  


Job Responsibility:

Corporate

  • Provide support to the Regional General Counsel on legal restructuring and shareholder transactions.

  • Arrange and attend board and shareholders’ meetings and preparation of agendas and minutes.

  • Preparation and arrange the execution of powers of attorney, resolutions, agendas and minutes. 

  • Ensure that the corporate procedures in the business are effective, with particular regard to renewal of licenses. 

  • Assist the business as and when required to monitor licenses to ensure adequate records are maintained and licenses are renewed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure the registers and books of G4S companies within the Middle East are kept updated.

  • Ensure that the Group Company Secretarial Database is kept updated to reflect the latest information registered locally by G4S companies in relation to share capital, ownership, directors and officers, registered addresses and any other relevant information.

Commercial and Procurement

  • Provide training and development on G4S standard terms and conditions and CRM guidelines.

  • Implement and ongoing monitoring of the use of G4S standard terms and conditions and CRM guidelines.

  • Prepare, review and negotiate G4S standard terms and conditions.

  • Review and negotiate customer and supplier terms and conditions.

  • Review and negotiate requests for proposals.

  • Support the business with the completion of KYC and routine RFP questionnaires.

  • Support with the local CRM process and Salesforce.

  • Prepare renewals and terminations of contracts.

  • General contract management and managing the contract database.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution

  • Prepare instructions and instruct external legal counsel in relation to insured and uninsured claims.

  • Manage the relationship and performance of external legal counsel. 

  • Agree, review and approve external legal costs. 

Labour and Employee Related Matters

  • Research and advise the Regional General Counsel and the Human Resources Director on local labor law.

  • Provide support to the Human Resources Director on employee claims.

Systems and Reporting

  • Responsible for updating the continuous updating of systems

  • Responsible for reporting to both local management, Region and other Group functions.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Law Degree from a recognized and reputable university.

  • Admitted as a Lawyer with a recognised law society or bar counsel.

  • Minimum of 5 years post qualified experience with law firm experience beneficial.  

  • Proven work experience on corporate and commercial transactions

  • Fluent in English and Arabic. Proficient in using Computer Applications (Email, MS Office, Google Workspace) 

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills. 

  • Ability to manage complex, multi-faceted transactions with multiple, inter-related work streams.

  • Ability to competently facilitate key and relevant information to the management teams as and when required.
